Rose Noir produced another super effort at Eagle Farm on Wednesday 12 August, running a gutsy second in the XXXX GOLD Class 3 Plate (Race 7).
Despite drawing a wide barrier and finding herself at the back of the field turning for home, Rose Noir showed plenty of determination down the straight, making up several lengths on the winner to secure second place.
Renita described it as a “super run from an ordinary draw,” particularly given the firm track and muddling pace. Impressively, Rose Noir was the only horse across the eight-race meeting to make significant ground from the back.
“She gives her all, every time,” says Renita.

Rose Noir continues an excellent preparation, with a 6th, 1st, 4th, 2nd and 2nd from her five starts.
She is now being set for her first metropolitan start on Saturday 22 August, with a backup nomination for Wednesday 26 August should the barrier draw not fall in her favour.
