After jumping cleanly, leading jockey John Allen settled TimeOnLees into a perfect rhythm before asking her to improve approaching the home turn. She swept to the front at the 200-metre mark and quickly put the race beyond doubt, powering away to score by an impressive six lengths. It was a dominant display that highlighted both her staying ability and her continued improvement this preparation.
The victory takes TimeOnLees’ career record to an outstanding 19 starts for 3 wins, 6 seconds and 5 thirds, further rewarding the patience of her ownership group.
The impressive win also sets her up beautifully for the next stage of her campaign. Trainers Tony & Calvin McEvoy are now aiming her towards Sandown on 8 July, where she is likely to contest either a Benchmark 70 (2100m) or a Fillies & Mares Benchmark 74 (2100m). Currently rated Benchmark 62, she’ll be stepping up in grade, providing an exciting opportunity to see just how much upside she has.
As Tony and Calvin put it, “We’ll find out a lot more about her potential whichever of those two races she starts in.”
The victory continues a remarkable run of success for AHA Racing owners, coming just days after Rose Noir’s brilliant win on the Gold Coast. Together, the two victories see AHA Racing’s Australian racing record improve to an impressive:
🏆 18 Wins, 🥈 20 Seconds, 🥉 14 Thirds
Congratulations to everyone involved with TimeOnLees. It’s a fantastic result and another exciting milestone for the AHA Racing team, with plenty to look forward to as she takes the next step up in class.
