August Opens with a Bang: Mr Vivaci Leads the Charge in Another Winning Weekend

AHA Racing has kicked off August in fine form, notching up a win, a second, and a third placing in just the first three days of the month. It’s yet another powerful demonstration of performance and consistency from a compact but high-achieving team.

Mr Vivaci Storms to Victory at Sandown

The standout performance of the weekend came from Mr Vivaci, who delivered an impressive win in Race 7 at Sandown Lakeside on Sunday 3 August — the Sportsbet More Places Handicap over 1600m.

Trained by Chris Waller and ridden by Jye McNeil, Mr Vivaci began well from a tricky draw and settled comfortably in a midfield position. He was shuffled into the three-wide line mid-race, but travelled strongly and cornered into the straight full of running. Once he hit the front, he showed plenty of fight to hold off challengers and secure a well-earned win.

Le Chocolat and Gaylord Add to the Weekend Results

  • Friday 1 August – Le Chocolat produced a determined third at Kembla Grange on a very testing Heavy 9 track. He never looked entirely comfortable in the going but stuck to his task well to finish in the money.

  • Saturday 2 August – Gaylord, coming off a Super Maiden win at Grafton, followed up with a strong second at Gold Coast Turf Club. The slow tempo and wide run throughout took a toll, but he showed real heart to stick on for second.

An Exceptional Month of Racing

From just five horses in work over the last four weeks, AHA Racing has produced the following results: 1st – 1st – 1st – 2nd – 2nd – 3rd – 3rd – 4th. Only eight starts were required to deliver that level of consistency.

18 Months of Success from just 8 horses in work...

  • 12 Wins

  • 15 Second Placings

  • 10 Third Placings

It’s a results record few racing operations across Australasia can match for strike rate and consistency.

Mr Vivaci’s win also marked the 202nd career victory for our breeding partners, Koru Thoroughbreds – another important milestone in a shared journey of success.
