Gaylord delivered another strong performance yesterday, finishing second in the Clarence Valley Office Supplies Class 2 Handicap (1190m) at Grafton, NSW.
He was narrowly beaten by just 0.33 lengths by a runner that enjoyed the perfect run in transit and carried 2.5kg less. In racing terms, that weight difference is significant, making the result even more encouraging.
This was another step forward in his current preparation, with his next two runs expected to be starts four and five of the campaign — typically when horses reach peak fitness. Based on this performance, we’re confident Gaylord is building towards a win or two over the coming month.
