Dubious Rose Gearing Up for Debut – One to Watch This Spring

Say hello to Dubious Rose – a striking filly by Dubious out of Raspberry Rose and one of the exciting prospects in our “Cristal” Ownership Group.

Although she’s yet to make her race debut, this rising 4-year-old has already shown serious promise.

Dubious Rose began her training as a late 2YO with Chris Waller in Sydney. During that prep, she suffered a light nosebleed – likely due to a stable virus circulating at the time. While NSW rules mandate a 3-month stand-down for nosebleeds, we took a cautious approach and gave her 9 months off, allowing her to mature and strengthen.

She’s now in the capable hands of Matthew Dunn Racing at Murwillumbah. After impressing in an early prep and trialling beautifully on the Gold Coast, she was unfortunately sidelined again with a minor sacroiliac muscle tear. Following six weeks of rest and recovery, she’s now back in work, looking fantastic and training the house down.

All going to plan, Dubious Rose will trial in late August and target her race debut in early September. As a half-sister to Rose Noir (by Divine Prophet out of Raspberry Rose), she has pedigree and potential on her side.

We’re excited to see what this talented filly can do — she’s definitely one to watch this spring!
